Join us on Thursday, June 15th for our Open House! We look forward to showing off the many areas of our building and how they all fit together in our 28,000 sq. ft. of space. RSVP here.
Gallery Show: We’re excited to have a long time friend and local artist Robert Vargas join the festivities. His work will be gracing our Main Gallery with portraitures and illustrations.
A Window into Our Future: As the need to support emerging artists in Los Angeles continues to grow, we felt that it was time to reimagine our space. We have engaged Lorcan O’Herlihy Architects (LOHA) to do just that, and we can’t wait to share images of the project with you. We think our 14,000 sq.ft. Arts Center can be so much more! Lorcan O’Herlihy will join us on June 15th to discuss this project.
Ensemble Vómma, a contemporary chamber music ensemble based at California Institute of the Arts, will be presenting Arvo Pärt’s Summa for acoustic string sextet, as well as David Aguila’s violin and cello duo.
Performance Showcase: Sharing what we do BEST! We will condense the spirit of our theater into one night of performances. This is a snapshot of what happens in our theater every night. Expect poetry, ensembles, voice, and more. Performances by Red, A New Musical and G. Yamazawa!
Ensemble Vomma’s David Aguila will present his Toccatta for amplified string quartet.
Community Sing will demonstrate their collaborative and spontaneous musical gathering in which they sing to the artwork in the gallery. Enjoy this creativity in action!
Lauren Turk‘s interactive music installation, “Stories to Songs”, will songify any story you tell into a live musical serenade. Come tell a story and hear it transformed into music.
We will see you Thursday, June 15th!! Don’t forget to RSVP!
This event is being generously sponsored by Astral Tequila and Sombra Mezcal.
