The SUBMERGENCE exhibition is inspired by curator Lentz’s move from a small town in the Midwest to Los Angeles to pursue her film dreams. She chose to fully submerge herself, as one would perform a cannonball into the deep end of a swimming pool.
“The people here are all so dedicated to their craft that they can’t be bothered to waste their precious time, they are all SUBMERGED in their calling.”
Eventually, you will find that the seed you planted is viable and that every act of
bravery from there on out is an act of defiance against continuing to live a surface version of yourself. Lentz hopes the pieces in this collection evoke a similar feeling of perseverance and inspiration to express oneself in whatever form possible.
