Labor of Love - September
Art Share LA is hosting a curated open call exhibition to showcase art as work, and artists as workers. This special Labor Day exhibition is aimed to highlight the artist as a whole person — to not only honor and share the hardworking, human side of their creative hustle, and how the pursuit of a “day job” affects their practice, but also to appreciate the activity of work as a noble subject for fine art, and to include and spotlight the use of materials, techniques, and processes that in themselves are labor-intensive, and assertively made. All forms of “Labors of Love.”

Protest - October
Inspired by the creative march and protest signs, Art Share L.A. is excited to announced a curated open call exhibition of text-based artwork. Text as or within artwork can create, add strength, contradict, or completely alter the viewer’s interpretation. Open to all forms of visual art, we encourage artists to submit not only protest or activism rooted art, but all text-based work in general. Share your clever wordplay. Bring the #Movement slogans. Make social commentary. Highlight the semantics. Show us the irony. Motivate, provoke, inspire, juxtapose, comment–let’s talk about it. Let’s use our words!

Gratefulness - November
In an effort to redefine the calendar holiday, Art Share L.A. would like to transform the gallery into a space of gratefulness, mindfulness, and affirmation of our common humanity. As an offer of oasis, Gratefulness is a curated open call exhibition that offers a reprieve from any toxicity and negativity of daily life. Through all forms of visual art, Gratefulness seeks to highlight the joyous aspects that community and life has to offer. Thinking about the beauty in the mundane, the light in darkness, and the delight in simple pleasures. This is a moment to be grateful in what we have, while continuing to pursue what we want. We are alive. We are together. We are artists living in Los Angeles! Life is good.
