Oakwood Brass

Our June 28th concert features three premieres by local composers, Looking Down by Jon Hatamiya, The Sun Will Rise by CalArts faculty Bob Clendenen, and Episode for Brass Quintet by CalArts alumnus Aaron Smith (MFA 2008). Also on the program is Jive for Five by Paul A. Nagle. 

Our feature piece for the evening is CalArts faculty Michael Pisaro’s new work for trombone and electronics, 1. Cell Division is Multiplication, performed by guest artist and recent CalArts graduate John Pisaro (BFA 2019). Finishing off the program is a work by OBOP founder and Artistic Director Darren Dvoracek (MFA 2019), Internal Spaces for tuba and freeze pedal. 

Admission is free and parking is also available for free in the raised lot directly across the street from the venue entrance.
