Our city is full of memorable walls, and in the new era of social media it’s become a must for locals and visitors to immortalize the LA experience with photos of its street art. Since 2012, Art Share L.A. has been one of the most recognizable buildings in Downtown LA. Set in the heart of the Arts District, it couldn’t be more fitting. Art Share L.A. supports local artists through generous efforts, and fantastic collaborations, like this new vision from Mikael B., which reflects an ever-evolving picture of the city.
Mikael B. was always greatly inspired by the vibrant urban scenery of the streets of LA. By understanding it’s history through these iconic walls, his mural integrates a fresh new look while adding to the street art nostalgia. The neon colors and geometrical lines are reminiscing of an 80’s urban scene, while the depth and texture in the contrast make it unique and engaging. There are so many stories told throughout the piece. It’s been capturing Angelenos from a distance, and attracting them into every unique detail up-close. Like all art, it has to be experienced.
During the gallery opening on February 21st, Mikael B. was honored the Certificate of Recognition by the City of Los Angeles as a result of his dedication to create a timeless mural for the Los Angeles arts community; a mural that will be remembered for years to come.
We would also like to thank all those who made this possible.
