An Interview With Female Welder and Painter, Gubby Beck

Born and raised in Northern New Jersey, Gubby Beck was always interested in the art world. Beck attended the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and began taking courses in painting, drawing and sculpture, however, immediately fell in love with sculpture. Feeling unsure whether she was able to make a full-time career out of art, Gubby moved to Venice, CA. After living in Venice for 3 years, Beck realized the cost of living prevented her from being creative and decided to move to Joshua tree, where she is now resided working her dream job.

A Night To Remember – 03.22.2018

On Thursday, March 22nd, over 300 art lovers, artists and patrons flocked to Art Share L.A.’s 4th annual “Above The Streets” fundraising Gala which included a gallery exhibition muralist Christina Angelina’s large-scale works, with many declaring it the most exciting event in years.

Christina Angelina, also known as “Starfighter” will be honored for her commitment to the beautification of the urban landscape at the 4th annual Above The Streets fundraising gala on Thursday, March 22nd. Angelina’s work will be splashed around the City of Los Angeles through various outdoor media channels: billboards, digital displays and more, essentially creating a Solo Show in the Sky!

New Look for the New Year

Art Share L.A.’s downtown LA space at 4th & Hewitt has one of the most recognizable exteriors in the city since international artist INSA adorned its walls with his signature aesthetic in 2012. Now, they’ve chosen Mikael B to create the next mural for Art Share’s high-profile, 9,300 square foot facade. This will be one of the largest murals in Los Angeles.

‘Untitled’ Gallery Opening A Success!

On Saturday, January 13, 2018, Art Share L.A. hosted the Untitled, gallery opening from 7-10PM. The show was curated by Paige Wery and co-curated by Shana Nys Dambrot. Almost all of the artists displayed in the group show were on-site for this occasion. The show will run through February 4, 2018.
